The vet who treated Buster sent this card and a packet of Forget Me Not seeds,
which we thought was nice. It was hand written by him.
We will never forget dear Busty.
Polly misses him dreadfully. When we go for walks a song that's in her mind is "Just The Two of Us".
There's only one dinner to make, one food bowl to wash, only me to be hosed down when we return from a walk, only me to be brushed.
💖💖💖
What an assortment of weather we have had
Crisp bright mornings. You can just hear the dripping sounds of the morning frost melting.
And lots of wind
Weather never seems to bother the horses
Just before Christmas the farmer had this bonfire to burn the excess branches from trees he had felled earlier in the year. I remember walking past it at a good distance and it felt lovely and warm.
Polly has given up on the jigsaw, it's back in the box ready to go to a charity shop.
She has finally finished the dolls house kitchen, I'm sure she will tell you about it soon.
Pretty seasonal blooms.
Daylight is extending by a few seconds each day.
Spring is just around the corner :-)
~ Be safe and well ~

The emptiness we feel for our beloved furry friends just never goes away, as it should not. I still ache for Georgie, and physically long to hug her soft fur and kiss her sweet little eyebrows. I know how you and Polly feel, and how much you miss Buster every day. It was so kind of the vet to send seeds. What a lovely thing to plant a spot in the garden for the ones who pave the way to heaven for us. And what a wonderful thing to continue the adventures through that beautiful land with Polly!💗
ReplyDeletePolly is going to plant the seeds when the weather gets a bit warmer 🐾
DeleteDogs sure do miss their buddies when they pass. Take care Rufus!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie 🐾
DeleteRufus, I'm sure you're taking very good care of Polly now all on your own. Good dog!
ReplyDeleteI do my best Debra 🐾
DeleteAww Rufus it can't be easy for you, sending you lots of hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorraine 🐾
DeleteIt looks like spring is in your world, far more than here. And what a selection of weather. I suspect you are all missing Buster but Rufus gets lots of extra loves.
ReplyDeleteHe does Jeanie, and yes some days the weather is beautifully mild and we can feel Spring in the air :-)
DeleteWhat a lovely card and the perfect seed packet. That’s some kind of wind blowing your fur back, Rufus. Wow on the seasonal blooms already. We have a foot of snow covering everything.
ReplyDeleteOur snow never lasts long. The wind has been ferocious the last couple of days 🐾
DeleteDear Rufus, I hope you're not feeling too bereft. And I hope you're taking good care of Polly while she adjusts to the loss of Buster.
ReplyDeleteYou're certainly getting every permutation of weather at the moment!
Thank you Nick. We're hoping for more mild weather to dry the ground so I don't have to be hosed down! 🐾
Deleteowww poor Rufus ...he look so sad.....sorry for your loss...love from me ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you Ria 🐾
DeleteRufus, I am sure you are missing your buddy just as much as Polly is missing her baby. A loss like this breaks all of our hearts but, with time, we can smile at all the good memories and deal with the bouts of grief as they come, knowing that grief is just a reminder that we loved and were loved. Big hugs to you and your Mommy, Polly. - Marilyn D., New Brunswick, Canada
ReplyDeleteThank you Marilyn. Polly is visiting your site at the moment, I think she's going to like what she sees 🐾
DeleteI love blue crocus flowers. Flowers in early spring are tough against coldness. It's great fun for me to enjoy them. Happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteRufus did very well with this post and of course both he and you miss Buster very much. The seeds were a lovely gesture. Your weather is looking better than the upcoming days of rain forecast here.
ReplyDeleteWe have had a few days of beautiful warm sunny weather, I hope it continues.
DeleteThanks for the update Rufus, give Polly an extra hug from her blogger buddy in Perth 💙
ReplyDeleteWill do Grace 🐾
