Hello

Hello and welcome to my site. Despite the two name title of my blog, I am just one person. The name came from Old Age Pensioner, but I dislike any of the terms given to people over the age of 60, senior citizen, oap's, over 60's, matures, SWELS (Seniors With Energetic Lifesytles) is probably the least worst, I guess nothing is really good because being over 60 isn't good so I thought Olive And Pru was a much nicer way of saying it! I wanted to talk about becoming a pensioner, the shock of realising that time had caught up with me and all of a sudden I didn't recognise the image staring back at me from the mirror, I thought it was my mother, but no it was me, asking myself how did I get here? It was as if I went to bed one night aged 30 and woke up the next morning aged 60, where did those years go? That was 3 years ago, I've had 3 years to get used to it and am sort of coming to terms with it. It's completely different to any other stage of life, and it's completely different for each and every one of us. So I wanted to ask, are you over 60, if so how you feel about it. Do you still want to work, do you have to work, do you still feel like a valuable member of society, do you feel invisible, do you worry about illness or diminishing health, do you feel passionate about doing as much as you can with the time you have left, do you yearn for adventure? Gap years and taking time out weren't options when I was young. Which led me to thinking do we want to make up for lost time?
