The cherry tree is losing its leaves
Misty mornings
All the other fields were ploughed weeks ago.
And the tiny fungi that I posted about a few weeks ago
and these are growing on the other side of the tree stump,
aren't they impressive.

You are so right! Your autumn is quite amazing! And I love those fabulous fungi!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie. I've seen lots of unusual fungi this year.
DeleteWow, those fungi are running AMOK!
ReplyDeleteThey are, and I've seen more on our walks lately. Maybe it was the wet spring we had.
DeleteThat mushroom patch is quite incredible. I wonder why it likes that spot so much…
ReplyDeleteHello Marie. They are growing on an old tree trunk so I think it could be rotting tree bark.
DeleteYou still have pretty tree colors. For the most part, ours just turn brown.
ReplyDeleteWe do Pam :-)
DeleteThis post was so full of beautiful colors, Polly, and the size of those fungi was really amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Beatrice.
DeleteWe really only get the red leaves from Red Maple and Japanese Maple trees. Fungi are always fun!
ReplyDeleteI did think about checking them out to see if any are edible, just out of curiosity, I wouldn't risk it even if they were though!!
DeleteThere are some pretty spectacular colours here in Belfast too. Lots of amazing reds. Our cherry tree has just been pruned, so there far fewer leaves to sweep up!
ReplyDeleteThose fungi are extraordinary. We're getting a lot of fungi on our lawns, but nothing so dramatic!
My cherry tree is almost naked now, I have collected 4 bags of leaves. I think it's been a bumper year for fungi.
DeleteHello Polly, I enjoyed your beautiful autumn walk! Such pretty colors and the fungi truly are amazing. I am a new follower xx K
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen :-)
DeleteI, too, enjoyed your lovely fall walk.
ReplyDeleteThe fungi are indeed impressive!
Thank you Veronica.
