I wonder why the Queen was wearing five poppies. And why Camilla and Meghan were wearing three poppies. Is one poppy considered a bit feeble?
But never mind the poppies. My concern is for all the the war veterans with physical and mental injuries who don't always get the help they desperately need.
I don't know Nick, I think it's because a corsage does look very nice. I usually have two on the go, not at the same time but because I used to forget to remove it from one outfit to wear on another the next day! Yes you're right, there are too many veterans who get overlooked. I don't understand why they don't get enough help.
Hello Polly, I haven't been out today as I had some jobs to catch up with at home. I wore my poppy though, as I was doing the ironing, and while I was doing the gardening. The laying of the wreaths at the Cenotaph and the two-minute silence was very moving. I shall be watching 'They shall not grow old' on BBC 2 at 9.30: a Peter Jackson documentary, using remastered footage from WW1. Your poppy says it all: we must never forget.

ReplyDeleteHello Jacqui, I didn't see that documentary, I will check if it's available on iplayer.
DeleteThe perfect image for this day. It says it all.
ReplyDeleteI agree - perfect for the day. Hope you are enjoying this month of November, dear Polly. It is my favorite, just goes by way to quickly.
