Colobus Monkeys

Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, Zanzibar is home to the very pretty Red Colobus Monkey. I don't usually like monkeys, but these were very calm, no dive bombing or stealing from us, they were content and very well behaved. It is also home to Blue Sykes' Monkeys, Bush Pigs, Aders Duiker Antelopes, Elephant Shrews, Chameleons and numerous butterflies.

  1. Some enchanting photographs. I think that monkeys only become aggressive and greedy when they live too near to us humans. Wonder where they get it from?

    1. Thank you for your comments. I sort of agree. After giving it some thought we go into their territory and expect a certain kind of behaviour, or, don't like it when they display their instinctive behaviour. These were lovely though, I could have watched them for hours.

  2. Hi Polly. Wonderful photographs. I must admit, the last time I saw some monkeys I could have watched them for ages. Don't ask me to remember what they were, though! Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving a comment.
