Lunchtime Concert

Trio Lavolta
Violin, Cello, Piano

I had high hopes for yesterday's concert, sadly it was another one that I just didn't like.

The programme started with a piece by Shostakovich, some of his waltz pieces are beautiful but this wasn't. I endured it (yes that's how it felt) hoping that Beethoven would be better - it wasn't. I left, life is too short to spend time on something that just isn't pleasurable. The programmes aren't always available to view online beforehand.

  1. Oh dear. Well, I guess they can't all be winners.

    1. You're right Debra, it is what it is, and they are free so that's a bonus, although most people give a donation.

  2. It is unfortunate that some concerts are not to our liking, and it was good of you to have stayed as walking out would have been rther rude and you are hardly that type of person, Polly. Did you get a chance to talk to any other of the attendees for their thoughts. Perhaps you ere not alone?

    1. That's a good question Beatrice. I looked around but couldn't tell from peoples faces whether they were enjoying it, a few looked bored, I did see a few leaving, and a few were asleep, but that's quite common at that time of day!! I think by the law of averages that a few shared my opinion.

  4. It sounds like a lovely combination, potentially. I'm so sorry it fell short.

  5. Oh, that's too bad. Hopefully someone in the audience was able to enjoy it.

  6. What a shame, only once did my husband and I not like the program, but we'd taken a sandwich and bought a coffee so sat and enjoyed those till there was a break in the playing and slipped outside and sat in the sunshine instead!
